The West Point Police Department Communication/Emergency 911 Division is responsible for answering both emergency and non-emergency calls for service. The Communication Operators dispatch Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Service (EMS). They also answer Animal Control calls and dispatch the Animal Control Officer to the requested location. Due to the nature of the job, the Communications Division is in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The following guidelines should be followed when asking for assistance or reporting an incident in the City of West Point.
The citizens of West Point should call 9-1-1 to report any incident that requires immediate dispatch of Police, Fire or an ambulance.
When to call 9-1-1:
If you are unsure if your situation is an emergency, call 9-1-1. Remember the operator will ask you several questions.
